Brighton Thrash Palace, Sheffield Wednesday Hit Five & Bradford Go Top

Eleven matches. Four divisions. A first league win for one promoted club, a first win in charge for one new manager, and a change at the top of League One that happened almost by accident.

Here's everything that happened across the Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two on 17 and 18 October 2026.

Premier League

Brighton put five past Crystal Palace

Brighton's afternoon couldn't have started better. Jaydev Canvot turned a Pascal Groß free-kick into his own net inside four minutes, and two minutes later Diego Gómez doubled the lead with one of the goals of the season — a first-time strike from inside his own half that dropped in off the underside of the bar. Yasin Ayari made it three before the ten-minute mark was up.

Charalampos Kostoulas added a fourth early in the second half, and substitute Jack Hinshelwood tapped in a fifth late on after Walter Benítez could only parry Luka Vušković's header into his path.

Brighton 5-0 Crystal Palace. A result that leaves Brighton with one of the best defensive and attacking records in the division this season, and leaves Palace with plenty to think about on the drive home.

Manchester City survive an Ipswich scare

Phil Foden opened the scoring inside the first twenty minutes, only for Daizen Maeda to level almost immediately. Erling Haaland restored City's lead with a header from a Mateo Kovačić cross just before half-time, then added a second early in the second half to make it 3-1.

Zian Flemming's late penalty gave the scoreline a nervier finish than City's manager would have liked, but City held on. Manchester City 3-2 Ipswich Town — a seventh win from seven for new boss Enzo Maresca, who has barely put a foot wrong since replacing Pep Guardiola in the summer.

For City supporters still adjusting to life after Guardiola, the live Manchester City collection is worth a look, and Ipswich fans can find their range in the Ipswich Town collection.

Leeds frustrate Manchester United again

Bryan Mbeumo gave Manchester United an early lead at Elland Road, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin levelled for Leeds before the break and that's how it stayed. Leeds 1-1 Manchester United.

It's now just one win in seven Premier League games for United, and the pressure on Old Trafford shows no sign of easing. For Leeds, a point against one of the traditional big clubs is no bad return on their first season back in the top flight.

Fulham finally off the mark

It had been a long wait. Alex Iwobi's first-half strike proved enough to beat Hull City, despite Ryan Sessegnon seeing red late on and Fulham having to see out the closing stages with ten men. Fulham 1-0 Hull City — Fulham's first Premier League win of the season.

For Hull, newly promoted and still finding their feet at this level, it's a result that will sting more than most. Their fans can browse the Hull City collection while the Tigers look to bounce back.

Championship

West Ham close the gap on leaders Swansea

Divine Mukasa's first-half strike was the difference as West Ham won 1-0 away at Swansea, denying the hosts in a game Ben Cabango almost rescued with an effort that came back off the crossbar.

Swansea 0-1 West Ham. It's West Ham's second win in a week after putting six past a nine-man Lincoln City side in midweek, and it leaves the Hammers just a single point off top spot, with form that looks a lot like a promotion push.

The live Swansea City collection and West Ham collection are both there for fans following this one closely.

Wrexham's four-goal response

Joe Worrall put Wrexham ahead after half an hour, Alfie Devine levelled for Preston five minutes later, and from there it was one-way traffic. Ben Whiteman restored the lead just before half-time, Sam Smith made it 3-1 on the hour, and Kieffer Moore added a fourth soon after.

Wrexham 4-1 Preston North End — a response that will have eased any nerves inside the Racecourse after a shaky start to the game.

Wrexham's growing fanbase can find the matchday range in the live Wrexham collection.

Portsmouth make it back-to-back wins

Marko Milovanović's penalty was enough to win it for Portsmouth away at Norwich, a result that followed a dramatic 3-2 win over ten-man Sheffield United in midweek.

Norwich City 0-1 Portsmouth. Two wins in four days is exactly the kind of run that turns a solid Championship season into a promotion conversation.

Fans can shop the Portsmouth collection and the Norwich City collection.

League One

Sheffield Wednesday hit five, but still have one eye on Bradford

Barry Bannan's deflected effort opened the scoring in the 38th minute, and Davis Keillor-Dunn made it two a minute later. Harry Gray added a third right on the stroke of half-time, Callum Slattery turned in a close-range fourth early in the second half, and Keillor-Dunn completed his brace with ten minutes left.

Sheffield Wednesday 5-0 AFC Wimbledon stretches their unbeaten League One run to seven games. It leaves them sixth on 18 points from nine games — but with a game in hand on the club that leapfrogged them at the top this weekend.

Bradford go top under Michael Duff — the same day Plymouth lost theirs

Antoni Sarcevic converted a penalty with eleven minutes left, and Will Swan added a second soon after to seal it. Bradford City 2-0 Stevenage — and, significantly, Michael Duff's first win since taking charge.

The timing couldn't have worked out better. On the same afternoon, league leaders Plymouth Argyle lost at home, which meant Bradford's win was enough to send them top of League One on 20 points from ten games.

Bradford fans can find their range in the live Bradford City collection.

Plymouth's grip on top spot slips at Home Park

Derensili Sanches Fernandes put Huddersfield ahead inside the opening ten minutes, and Bojan Radulović's diving header made it 2-0 early in the second half. Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Huddersfield Town — a result that cost Plymouth top spot and sent Huddersfield up to third, with Plymouth dropping to fourth.

Fans on both sides can shop the Huddersfield Town collection and the Plymouth Argyle collection.

Stockport and Cambridge both move level on points

Kyle Wootton's header after nineteen minutes was enough to beat Bromley at Edgeley Park, moving Stockport County up to second. Cambridge United, meanwhile, dug out a 2-1 win away at Barnsley to join the logjam just behind Bradford.

With Huddersfield, Plymouth, Stockport and Cambridge all sitting on 19 points, League One's top six is as tight as it's been all season — and Bradford's the only side clear of the pack.

Barnsley fans can browse the Barnsley collection while their side looks to climb away from trouble.

League Two

Salford stretch their lead at the top

Brandon Langstaff scored twice as Salford City beat Crawley Town 2-1, extending their unbeaten run and taking them to 22 points from eleven games — still top of League Two.

Fans can gear up for the promotion run-in with the Stadium Series collection.

Barnet come from behind again

James Vaulks put Tranmere ahead in the first half, but Barnet hit back through Emmanuel Tshimanga, who levelled from open play before converting a penalty in the 87th minute to complete the turnaround. Tranmere Rovers 1-2 Barnet.

It's another unbeaten result for Barnet, who sit second on 21 points from just nine games — one point behind Salford, with two games in hand.

What's still to come

One match from this round is still to be played: Tottenham host Coventry on Monday night, a fixture that had yet to kick off as this round-up went live — so that one's a story for next week.

Whichever club has your attention this week, there's a matchday-ready range waiting in the Stadium Series and Football Casual T-Shirts & Terrace Clothing collection.
